Daily Newsings: 28th May

Daily Newsings are musings on the daily news.

For today’s Newsing, we look at Spain, Ireland and Norway choosing to extend recognition to the Palestinian state. This is significant because these are Western European nations who have done so, and they historically were close allies to Israel.

This is an indication that the European Union and the state of Israel are gradually drifting apart.

While it does not make a huge difference directly to Palestinians who face death, starvation, and suffering on a daily basis, it is still quite significant in showing how Israel’s actions are no longer being overlooked by large sections of the world.

And so, even if it is an extremely small victory for Palestine, let us paise God for the small win, and continue to pray for peace in the region.

Let us also continue to pray that the leaders of Hamas and the leaders of Israel will be held accountable for the war crimes they’ve been committing in the International Criminal Court case that’s currently going on.
